A glass of fresh juice is the perfect way to up your fruit and veggie intake and give your body a much-needed winter boost.

There are no hard-and-fast rules about juicing combinations – the best way to find your favourites is to experiment. These nutrient-packed recipes will help get you started. They all make one tall glass, so just pass ingredients through a juicer, pour over ice and enjoy!


Spinach surprise

1 green apple

1 celery stalk

20g baby spinach leaves

⅓ cup mint leaves

¼ lime, peeled


Top tip: If you’re new to vegetable juices, start by adding more fruit until you get used to the flavour.


Watermelon cooler

400g chopped seedless watermelon

½ tsp ginger

2 tsp lemon juice

Whole mint leaves, to serve


Top tip: Fresh is best – the fresher the fruit and veg, the higher the nutritional value.   


Vitamin C blast

2 carrots

2 apples

1 wedge wax-free lemon, rind intact

½ tsp ginger


Top tip: This cleansing juice is rich in vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system – it’s the ideal winter tonic.   


Beet it 

1 small raw beetroot

2 apples

¼ carrot

1 wedge wax-free lemon, rind intact


Top tip: Health gurus recommend juicing most vegetables without peeling – the skins are packed with antioxidants, fibre and nutrients. If you don’t enjoy the earthy taste that comes with unpeeled beets, simply peel before use.
